| Bio: | Character: Pharaoh Abidos III Series: Yu-Gi-Oh GX Original or Alternate: Original Age: Unknown. He's technically about three thousand years old, but he appears to be in his teens or perhaps early twenties. Birthday: May 9 Gender: Male Species: Human (ghost?) Sexuality: Bisexual Appearance: Abidos appears to be a young Egyptian man in the primeof his life. He is not very tall - actually rather on the small side of average - but he has a fairly muscular body and is really rather attractive. He has tan skin and long, straight black hair that falls to just about the level of his collarbone. His eyes are a striking shade of violet, heavily outlined in black. Since he is a pharaoh, his clothing is usually quite dramatic. At the moment he's pulled to Econtra, he's wearing a loose, sleeveless white shirt, a long blue cloak with blue and gold plates at the shoulders, a heavy gold collar set with three spherical emerald stones, a blue and gold headdress, a number of bracelets and rings (two gold rings on the smallest fingers of each hand, and a gold armlet on each arm, as well as a pair of ankh-shaped earrings), and thigh-length wrap that consists of a gold belt with a red ornament fringed in gold that covers him in front, with the rest being covered by swathes of blue and gold fabric. The ensemble is completed by a pair of cream-colored sandals and a variety of gold bands fitted around his calves and ankles. He also has a pair of long blue and gold gloves and a golden duel disk. Personality: Being a pharaoh, Abidos is rather spoiled and used to getting his own way. Since no one ever disagreed with him during his lifetime, he has no idea how to handle rejection or contradiction, and will get very angry at people who treat him that way. In fact, he's prone to breaking out into petty, juvenile arguments of the "Oh, yeah? Well, you're a big stupid-head!" variety. However, he is aware of the fact that he's been indulged all his life, and he greatly desires to learn how to do things for himself, so if you can prove to him that you know what you're talking about, he'll eventually shut up and listen to you. He's high-spirited and easily enthused, with a lot of curiosity about the parts of the world his noble upbringing denied him access to. Weapons: He has none on him, at the moment, other than his duel disk and a deck of cards. However, in his lifetime he learned to handle the weapons of his time, as was expected of a pharaoh. However, since his trainers tended to indulge him, his skills are only moderate and he wouldn't stand a chance against a seasoned warrior. Abilities: Very little, actually. He can duel, for what that's worth. He has picked up a bit of shadow magic during his time as one of the Seven Stars, but most of his potential is untapped. However, he is avidly curious and has boundless enthusiasm, and will probably learn rapidly once presented with competent, honest trainers who won't pull any punches for him. Weaknesses: Despite being known as an invincible duelist, he really isn't that good. As a matter of fact, he's only mediocre on a good day. He really doesn't know how to do much of anything for himself, being used to having servants to take care of such things for him. His habit of getting annoyed and hurt when people correct him makes it difficult for him to persist with anything, whether it's learning a new subject or making a friend: though he'll begin with great eagerness, he may become dispirited and want to give up when the going gets difficult. History: Abidos was born as a pharaoh in Egypt, and took up dueling at an early age. He quickly developed a love of the game and was eternally eager to take on all challengers. However, his courtiers feared to incur the pharaoh's wrath by defeating him, and so they always played to lose in an effort to keep him happy. Abidos enjoyed his reputation for invincibility, but was privately dissatisfied at the fact that nothing was ever a real challenge for him. Then one day he happened to overhear one of his soldiers complaining to another about how hard it was to lose all the time to a pharaoh who wasn't really such a good player. Abidos was crushed, both by the knowledge that he was truly a weak player and by the dishonesty of the servants he had trusted. The young king loved dueling more than anything, and realizing that he was trapped in a world where no one would ever duel him openly and honestly, Abidos lost the will to live. However, his spirit could not find peace in the afterlife. He still wanted to duel, and his soul could not pass on until he'd had one real game against a true opponent. So he slept in his sarcophagus, waiting for the day when someone would awaken him. The day came when he was summoned by a man named Kagamaru, who offered him a second chance at life and dueling if Abidos would agree to join the Seven Stars and help steal the seven star keys. Abidos leaped at the chance, and so found himself facing off with Judai. Judai encouraged Abidos to play a real duel with him and hold nothing back, and assured him that he would do the same. The two of them had a truly enjoyable duel, and in the end, Abidos took his first loss. However, he was happy to have had an honest opponent at last. His appetite for more dueling was whetted, but he had fulfilled his purpose in staying in the mortal world and had to pass on to his eternal rest, so he asked Judai to come to heaven with him so they could duel some more. Judai politely pleaded another engagement but promised to come join him in a few decades and then duel him as much as he liked. Abidos agreed that after waiting thousands of years to meet someone like Juudai, waiting a few more years wouldn't do him any harm, so he boarded the ship that would bear him to his next life. However, something went a bit wrong in the cosmic switching yard, and he ended up in Econtra.
